I first met Kelly & Jamie at a Wedding Fair in February 2020, just before Covid took hold and put a stop to everything. About a year later an email arrived in my inbox, saying they had picked up the planning again and would like to start thinking about CAKE!
They had booked The Old Vicarage Boutique Wedding Venue in Southwell, Nottinghamshire, which is local to me. The venue suited their intimate wedding plans perfectly, with beautiful outdoor spaces and a picture-perfect setting.
Kelly chose her dress from Bellame Bridal in Uphill, Lincoln. She chose a Justin Alexander dress with matching bodysuit and belt and a gorgeous veil by Tulle and Flo Bridal. The colours for their special day were White & Champagne with Green notes
Following their consultation Kelly & Jamie chose their design from 3 sketches. They decided upon a bottom tier lustred in an edible champagne dust; a middle tier with fresh flowers, which I arranged diagonally across the centre and then surrounded by 24 carat gold leaf, all topped off with a plain white iced top tier decorated with bass relief. After having tasted a sample box, Kelly and Jamie decided upon flavours of - Very Vanilla; Lemon & Elderflower & Chocolate Orange.

The finished product. Our cake was absolutely stunning, and to eat was equally sensational.
No criticism whatsoever. I would encourage couples to take advantage of the taster box and to make time to schedule a face-to-face appointment, as we really took so much value from this.
We are so lucky to say that we genuinely had the most perfect day, and it could not have been more special. We are so grateful to all our guests, and to all of the suppliers who made it all possible - We were so delighted that we chose Dawn to make our wedding cake - it really was absolutely gorgeous. Not only did it look stunning, but it tasted just as good - and all of our guests agreed!
