Just look at those smiles - I love my job and having the privilege of seeing photos from my couples special day is something I will be always grateful for.
My first meeting with Helen and Ben was following Helens telephone enquiry, Helen booked a virtual consultation appointment in Feb 2021, during Covid. Such a lovely family with fun and laughter at the heart of their special day wishes. They collected one of my sample boxes a few days before and had a family fun weekend, tasting and scoring the flavours to find out the favourites.
The venue for their special day was Rufford Mill, near Wellow, Nottinghamshire, a beautiful venue where there are many different photo opportunities. The venue suited their wedding plans perfectly, with beautiful outdoor spaces and a gorgeous Abbey too.
Helen chose a gorgeous Sincerity Bridal dress (Elle - 44080) from The Bridal Suite, in Woodthorpe, Nottingham. The dress with a pleated corset and full skirt. Their colour palette which included - green, cream, white and gold, was reflected throughout their styling.
Following their consultation Helen and Ben chose their cake from 3 designs. They decided on a 3 tier cake with the bottom tier iced in plain white icing with sharp edges, the middle tier lustred in champagne lustre dust and the top tier iced in white with sharp edges, then all three tiers were dotted down one side with 24 carat gold leaf and the bottom tier would have a raw silk ribbon. The top tier would also have a posy of flowers. The winning flavours from the samples were - Chocolate Orange and Lemon & Elderflower these were also paired with Vanilla infused with Raspberries.
Huge Congratulations to you both, I hope if you read this, it brings back gorgeous memories of your special day. It really was such a pleasure to be a part of.

Dawn was an absolute 'cake wizard' from the very start of the process to the end result - our absolutely stunning and delicious wedding cake. We booked the Cake Story almost 18 months before our big day as we loved Dawn's approach, her friendliness, her designs and her attractive website. We were spot on with our choice and never looked back. Throughout the whole process Dawn consulted with us, gave us great advice and collaborated with us to take us from total cake ineptitude, to 'wow that's our cake and we are in love with it!'. Her design was simply beautiful and captured exactly what we were hoping for - elegance, simplicity with a flourish of gold. The cake tied in perfectly to our theme and sat like a queen on a throne in the corner of the room! I haven't mentioned the taste of the sponges yet - truly divine. Dawn can seriously bake. Full stop. We had such fun choosing our sponge flavours during a taste testing session with our kids (obviously chocolate won and the adults didn't get a look in!). I cannot recommend The Cake Story highly enough to other couples. I had full trust and confidence in Dawn, never doubting that she would deliver her promise - and that she did.
